Popular Philadelphia Drag Queen, Valencia Prime died Monday night after collapsing onstage during her performance at Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar (Tabu Philly). According to TMZ, the cause of death is determined to be cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Dubbed as “Philadelphia's Plus Size Dancing Diva”, Valencia Prime was locally known for her performances in the Philly area and her bright spirit.
Tabu Philly took to their official Instagram page to express their condolences, “Today we mourn the loss of a very bright and rising star in the performance community and a person who was always full of love and positivity. We say goodbye to Valencia Prime but we will not forget the light you brought to the stage."
Fans expressed their sadness in Prime’s final Instagram post, which she made the night of her demise. Aloe Vera, a close friend and fellow Drag Queen, took to her personal Facebook page with a heartfelt message:
“…You are and will forever be my light. I wish I knew how to keep going without you. I wish I knew how to be inspiring too others that are hurting right now… but a piece of my soul has been taken from me and I’m struggling to pick myself up off the ground without you…”
Following her untimely death, Tabu Philly announced a memorial show in honor of Valencia Prime. The memorial show will be free of charge and co-hosted by fellow Drag Queens Aloe Vera and Asia Monroe.
