According to TVM News, Matteo Menicocci, an Italian photographer/LGBT activist, and his partner Riccardo experienced homophobia and were insulted during their holiday visit to Tel Aviv. The couple decided to take this photo in order to promote “love and peace between sexes and religions”. In the photograph Menicocci is seen wearing traditional Palestinian garb while kissing his partner Riccardo, who is wearing a Yarmulke, a Jewish symbol.
