Rapper, producer and media extraordinaire DJ Khaled recently partnered with Dolce & Gabbana for a special unisex collection. Inspired by his urban Miami style, the collection features a mixture of Mediterranean color, contemporary flair and D&G's signature baroque codes.
The new fashion collection, which includes beachwear and accessories, was released on March 15th in select Dolce & Gabbana boutiques and on the duo’s e-commerce site.
To help promote his new clothing collaboration, DJ Khaled enlisted spokesmodels and sent out samples and to his many celebrity friends, some of which included Diddy and Rohan Marley. Recently, Khaled gifted actor, singer and fashion enthusiast Miss Lawrence a sample of his new Khaled Khaled x Dolce&Gabbana collection.
Miss Lawrence posted a photo and thankful caption on Instagram while wearing one of Khaled's designs, which features a lion framed by florals, bold stripes and polka dots.
Miss Lawrence's sample package also included a special letter written by DJ Khaled: "Dear Miss Lawrence, Spreading the light this spring! Enjoy this first look at my new D&G x Khaled collection. We the best!"
Upon the release of his new collection, DJ Khaled issued a statement, "I’m excited to announce this amazing new collection I have been working on with Dolce & Gabbana. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to collaborate with Stefano and Domenico, and this collection showcases a fun blend of my classic Miami style and the high fashion of Dolce & Gabbana," said DJ Khaled, whose most famous video – 'Popstar,' with 176 million views, also stars Drake and Justin Bieber.
In a press release about the collaboration, the designers Dolce and Gabbana explained why they decided to join in on the collaboration.
"DJ Khaled's energy and passion greatly impressed us: working with him on this special project was a new and exciting experience."
Following a recent pledge to increase the size range of their clothes, Dolce & Gabbana will offer this latest collaboration up to an Italian size 60, which is XXL in US sizes.
