Michael Sam, the first openly gay football player to be drafted by an NFL team is single and looking for love!

But as many others in the community, Sam has asked an interesting question as he navigates being single, “Is it wrong to be a hopeless romantic?”

Since retiring football in 2015, Michael Sam has seemed to find his calling as a speaker, focusing mainly on the LGBTQ community and youth. He's living a rather normal life now and has been an advocate against discrimination.

Sam was engaged for six months to long-term boyfriend Vito Cammisano whom he met in 2011 when they were both students at the University of Missouri. However their relationship ended in 2015. Sam has yet to go public with a relationship since then.

Today, we were able to get an impression on Michael’s current relationship status. He took to his Instagram Story and shared the answer to his question about if it was wrong to be a hopeless romantic.

“No. Because I believe in love. And love will find me when I am ready.”

Well gayes, let’s hope he will be ready soon, meanwhile, go ahead and shoot your shot! Don’t say we didn’t put you on game!
