Out of the Upside and Out of the Closet! Star of Netflix's hit show "Stranger Things," Noah Schnapp who portrays the role of Will Byers just came out of the closet as gay on his TikTok account of over 31.5 million followers today January 5th. Happy New Year to him.
Schnapp, 18, expressed in the video, "When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was 'we know.'" He also captioned the video, "I guess I'm more similar to Will than I thought."
In the show "Stranger Things" his character Will Byers is hinted at being gay, however, due to the time period being set in the 80s the character is not open about his sexuality and it is also hinted that Will has a crush on fellow main character and love interest of Eleven - Mike Wheeler. This summer in an interview Schnapp did confirm the hints and fan speculation that Will is gay and has feelings for Mike.
Netflix did confirm Season 5 of "Stranger Things" will indeed be the final season and is on the horizon, but no release date has been confirmed.
So, will Will get a love interest in the final season? As his character is the only one that does not have one. Only time will tell.
