Congratulations are in order for P-Valley's Nicco Annan aka Uncle Clifford for winning 'Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series' at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards.

Presented by Abbott Elementary stars and fellow NAACP nominees Sheryl Lee Ralph and Jenelle James, Annan's win was the first of the night. His performance as Uncle Clifford on Starz’s hit television series P-Valley marked his second nomination and has now landed him his first-ever NAACP Image award.

"I want to dedicate this to every 40, 50, 60, 70-year-old+ who did not have space to be themselves," Nicco said in his acceptance speech.

Annan rounded out his speech by thanking his team and fans and quoting P-Valley's creator - Katori Hall.

"May you dine at the tables that you build with dreams too brave to be broken with cups and plates that runneth over', those are the words of Katori Hall, and I thank that woman for this opportunity and for creating a space that we can look at our cousins and sisters and brothers with love dignity and respect as they fly through the ceiling."

Nicco was able to win over notables in the category such as Damson Idris for his role in FX’s Snowfall, Kofi Siriboe for Queen Sugar, Sterling K. Brown for This Is Us, and Hollywood newcomer Jabari Banks for Bel-Air.
