Raven Symoné and Wife Miranda Pearman-Maday Talk About Starting A Family: 'I Want Four Kids'

Updated: Aug 13, 2021

Legendary actress and singer, Raven-Symoné shocked the world last year when she announced via Instagram that she had tied the knot with her now wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday. The couple officially became Mrs. and Mrs. Pearman on June 16 in a small and intimate ceremony in the front garden of famed choreographer and Grey’s Anatomy star Debbie Allen’s home in L.A.

Now it seems the newlyweds are turning the page to the next chapter in their love story as they discuss starting a family together.

“I want four kids. I want to be able to make sure that the gatherings at the dinner table and the gatherings at holidays are full of excitement and fun. If we just have one child, I feel like it’s not enough distraction. I want a whole bunch of people in the house.”

Miranda chimes in and adds,"We share that in common; wanting that really kind of picturesque, family dinner, loud, house, the things we didn't really grow up with.”

The pair hopes to explore both IVF and adoption, being able to both carry a child and possibly adopt later on.

While the two certainly seem excited to begin this new journey, they also acknowledged that they still have a lot of things they want to accomplish before making any new additions to their family.

Miranda shares, "We have to really sit down. I think we've been so distracted over the last year, let's say, between getting married and moving, starting this work together that that conversation hasn't been on the front line.”

Though in the meantime, Miranda plans on freezing their eggs.

"As Raven says, we're not getting any younger”, the 33 year old explains. “And freezing your eggs so you just know that they're there and they're safe is a wonderful thing. And I think that's something that we will probably do."

For now the happy couple are seemingly enjoying each other's company as they prepare to celebrate their one year anniversary. While they were unable to provide specifics on what their plans were for the big day, Raven ensures us that all will be revealed to us on their Youtube channel.

Before parting ways the couple is asked what they’ve learned about each other 1 year into marriage. Raven gets real and admits that there were a lot of things she had to unlearn when deciding to take on marriage with Miranda.

“I’ve been selfish my entire life. I’ve been such a selfish human being because of the industry that I’ve been in and I’ve always put work first before friendship and everything else. In my first year of marriage, just that transfer over of loving someone more than the industry and putting that person and their needs first even before my own has definitely been a journey for myself.”

Nonetheless, it’s clear to see that these two women are madly in love with each other and are in it for the long haul. We at Gaye Magazine are wishing the two a happy and joyful wedding anniversary and many more to come as they continue to embark on the beautiful journey that is marriage!
