Girl, we're gooped! The finale of season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars aired on Friday, Feb. 15th. The results shocked fans of the reality show when for the first time in the show's history, RuPaul crowned two winners for the season; Monet X Change and Trinity The Tuck.
Both queen's showed no signs of ill feelings about sharing the crown on their social media, celebrating their wins as independent victories. Monet captioned her Instagram post with "Beyond honored to be representing [RuPaul's Drag Race] as a reigning queen, but more so honored to be doing it as a QUEEN OF COLOR, and being your first Chocolate All Star."
Reception to the unconventional crowning has been mixed, with some fans saying the decision does both Queens wrong. On Twitter Trinity responded by saying “Two people were chosen ... to be given an award most deserving to both... We are blessed! Don’t be sad, mad, upset.”
Both queens won the $100,000, crown, and a place in the drag hall of fame. That’s the bottom line honey! With time, Ru’s choice to crown two winners will likely go down as being one of the most iconic twists in the show’s history. But for now, people just have to pick up their wigs from the snatching of a century.
Both queens celebrated their crowning day by releasing new music projects. Trinity released a music video for her song "I Call Shade" and Monet released a visual EP called "Unapologetically." Watch below.
