“Saturday Night Live” is currently under fire for a skit on last week’s episode in which co-head writer Michael Che joked about President Joe Biden’s recent executive order repealing Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in the military.

Che’s joke was a play on the policy nicknamed “don’t ask, don’t tell” that banned gay and lesbian people from serving openly in the military between 1993 and 2010.

During the segment he said: “President Biden signed an executive order repealing Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in the military,” said co-head writer Michael Che in a faux news brief during the show’s “Weekend Update” segment. “Yeah, it’s good news. Except Biden is calling the policy, ‘Don’t ask, don’t tuck.’ Which is not good news.”

Viewers of the episode have been flooding social media deeming the skit and the show transphobic.

Gayes, was this a transphobic joke or as one Twitter user quoted, "If we can't laugh at ourselves, and at one another, in good spirit and without malice, then what fun can be left?"
