As we continue to expand our digital presence, we are seeking a talented Social Media/News Video Editor to join our team.

 

Job Description: As the Social Media/News Video Editor at Gaye Magazine, you will play a crucial role in visually engaging our audience on various social media platforms. You will be responsible for creating captivating news videos, sizzles, and reel videos tailored specifically for Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Reelz. Your creative eye and storytelling skills will be essential in delivering compelling content to our viewers.

Responsibilities:

• Edit and produce several 3-5 minute news videos/1 min sizzles and reel videos in a vertical format for social media platforms weekly.

• Collaborate with the content team to develop visually appealing videos that align with our brand's tone and messaging.

• Incorporate infographics, visual effects, and other engaging elements to enhance the storytelling.

• Ensure all videos are optimized for different social media platforms, considering their specific requirements and best practices.

• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, techniques, and tools in social media video editing and apply them to enhance our content.

• Meet project deadlines and manage multiple video editing tasks simultaneously.

 

Requirements:

• Proven experience in video editing and production, particularly for social media platforms.

• Proficiency in using video editing software and tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.). (Candidates are free to use software that best suits their capabilities.)

• A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to create visually compelling videos with a focus on storytelling.

• Familiarity with vertical video formats and best practices for various social media platforms.

• Knowledge of infographics creation and incorporation into videos.

• Ability to add visual effects, motion graphics, and other engaging elements to enhance the video content.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently while adhering to brand guidelines.

• Passion for and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community and its unique perspectives.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with the content team.
