Activist Hope Giselle Becomes the First Black, Openly Trans Woman to Give a Keynote Speech at NASA

Transgender rights activist and author Hope Giselle will make history on Jan. 31st as the first Black, openly transgender woman to give a keynote speech for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).


Giselle shared the news via her Instagram today, stating: “Always working and forever grateful. I will continue to create space for BLACK and brown people from all life experiences. As the First black trans woman to be invited to speak at @nasa I don't take it lightly and can't wait to share with them a little of what I know with hopes for us to all curate safer spaces together.”

NASA wrote: “For the first time in history, NASA will host an openly trans black woman for an internal keynote session and talk back.”Gayes, let’s send our sister a huge congratulations! Let’s “hope” her speech will be live streamed.
