NBC News reported that there is a transgender character coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios. Feige announced the presumed good news during an event Saturday at the New York Film Academy.

During the question-and-answer session, Feige was asked if there were any plans to add more LGBTQ characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "specifically the T, trans characters," in which Feige responded, "Yes, absolutely. Yes. Very soon," Feige added. "In a movie we're shooting right now."

However, according to a report by Variety, Feige was answering only the first part of the question about LGBT characters, and "he did not mean to imply that a trans character will be coming to the MCU 'very soon.'

Two sources close to the studio confirmed such. Feige did not specify which movie would include the character, but some fans speculate that the movie could be "The Eternals," as it is in production. NBC News has reached out to Marvel Studios for further comment.

Whether the Trans character is coming now or later, we are just happy to know that LGBT representation is definitely apart of the conversation when it comes to such big budget films.
