Dallas, Texas Scores a 100 for LGBT Workplace Equality

American Airlines and GameStop Corp. are among the list of companies that scored perfectly for LGBT equality in the workplace, according to the 2020 Human Rights Campaign Annual Corporate Equality Index.

This sparked conversation since Texas state law does not protect employees from discrimination based on their sexual orientation or gender identity as of 2013. Although many companies refuse to service the LGBT community, Vanessa Gray, Diversity, Inclusion, Culture and Engagement Manager for the City of Dallas wants everyone to know that they are welcome.

“Our City leaders work tirelessly to ensure our residents and those visiting our city can live, love, work, play and exist without being discriminated against because of who they are.”

63% of Americans in the U.S have reported discrimination activities, stated by the Federal Advocacy for Human Rights. Companies like Vista Energy, D.R. Hortons Inc. and Yum China Holdings did not participate in the equality poll.

Overall, Dallas TX has scored 100 for LGBT equality for 5 consecutive years!
