Gayes! Atlanta Black Pride Weekend is about to be bigger than ever, and this year, the city is getting a special first. East London’s own KWN, Billboard’s March R&B Rookie of the Month and one of the UK’s hottest new R&B voices, is touching down in the A for her first-ever U.S. Pride performance. She’ll be hosting and performing live at Opium nightclub during a star-studded showcase filled with rising artists and surprise guests.
KWN has been steadily making her mark across the pond, breaking through with a sound nostalgic of 90’s and 00’s R&B layered with textured productions, sultry vocals and vulnerable lyrics.
After stepping away from music during the COVID era, she re-emerged with intention, dropping a debut single “Wn Way or Another” in 2022 along with a host of other releases like her EP Episode Wn, arriving later that year.
For many in the U.S., KWN first came on our radar through “Clothes Off", a standout on multi-Grammy nominated artist Kehlani's "While We Wait 2” mixtape. But her viral moment came with the single Worst Behaviour, which later earned a feature from Kehlani.
The track and music video has managed to pull in over 17 million views on YouTube and is notably the East Londoner's most-streamed song on Spotify, fueled by its intoxicating call-and-response energy and unforgettably steamy on-screen chemistry between her and the “Folded” singer, sparking rumors of a romantic connection.

At the top of this year, KWN went on to join Kehlani as the opener for the European leg of the Crash world tour, commanding sold out crowds night after night and proving she’s ready for the global stage.
Now, Atlanta gets the honor of her first-ever Pride performance in the States, a milestone that brings her journey full circle while spotlighting the Black queer community that has always fueled R&B.
“I really just do me and I hope people are inspired by that. Don’t shy away from who you want to be or who you are right now,” KWN stated in an interview when asked about the importance of representation.
As the official media partner of Atlanta Black Pride, Gaye Magazine will be bringing you coverage all weekend long. Be on the lookout for more announcements, exclusive updates, and can’t-miss events leading up to the celebration.
