Inclusion has become a "dangerous" thing according to onemillionmoms.com. Disney has released its newest movie, Toy Story 4, which has sparked controversy after a scene that showed a lesbian couple.
The scene consisted of two women dropping the child off, and then the same women can be seen in a later scene picking their child up and giving them a hug. Cue the explosions. Because of this small scene the LGBTQIA community has called this a "small moment of normalization" or a small but significant movement of inclusion. The other side felt that Disney had lost their ever-loving mind.
Onemillionmoms.com reached out to followers asking them to sign a petition against Disney. The website continued to say that the normalizing of same-sex marriage is "dangerous" and that Disney had "blindsided" parents and exposed their children.
A statement on the petition read:
So many families probably plan on seeing this movie if they haven’t already and will be blindsided by this subtle but obvious promotion of the LGBTQ lifestyle. Not to mention there was a brief comment made about not hiding in a closet also in the movie. Some children may not catch this reference, but it was extremely unnecessary as with the lesbian couple. Both were brief and didn’t need to be included since it didn’t add to the story plot at all. These “blink and you will miss” moments were included strictly to push an agenda.
Toy Story 4 is the last place parents would expect their children to be confronted with content regarding sexual orientation. Issues of this nature are being introduced too early and too soon. It is extremely common yet unnecessary.
Disney has decided once again to be politically correct versus providing family-friendly entertainment. Disney should stick to entertaining instead of pushing an agenda and exposing children to controversial topics.
The tirade of one million angry mothers concluded with a call to action that no parent should ever again watch the damning works of evil Disney since appealing to a multi-cultural, multi-sexual population, which they believe is against family-friendly values.
It read: SIGN OUR PETITION STATING YOU WILL NO LONGER CONTINUE TO TRUST DISNEY SINCE THEIR ACTIONS HAVE VEERED AWAY FROM FAMILY-FRIENDLY ENTERTAINMENT.
