TT The Artist’s New Docuseries ‘DENIM’ Showcases Black, LGBTQIA+ Creativity & Resilience

This genre-bending series is the visionary creation of the award winning film director and visionary TEDRA, most notable as TT The Artist.

As a two-time RIAA Platinum dance music artist and trailblazing director, TEDRA’s work seamlessly merges music, art, and film to amplify underrepresented voices. Following her critically acclaimed film “Dark City Beneath The Beat” produced by Issa Rae and Deniese Davis, TEDRA now brings her innovative lens to DENIM.

DENIM has already received major recognition on the festival circuit, including the SXSW 2025 Special Jury Award Independent TV Pilot Competition, SeriesFest 2025 Best Director Independent Pilot Competition Unscripted, Vimeo Staff Pick, and Bushwick Film Festival 2025 Honorable Mention.

Kidd Kenn, a queer rapper reshaping the hip-hop scene with his bold, bubbly self-expression. Bishme Cromartie, winner of Project Runway All Stars Season 20, shares his journey as a Black, gay designer, who uses fashion as a powerful creative outlet. Deniim, a Baltimore-based trans woman and hair stylist, shares her own journey towards embracing her most authentic self with vivid animations.

Through dynamic storytelling, DENIM addresses the urgent need for representation in Hollywood and beyond. It invites viewers on an exploratory journey that challenges stereotypes, demystifies tropes, and reimagines societal narratives.
