Frank Ocean Opens Gay Nightclub in New York City

Updated: Oct 17, 2019

Singer Frank Ocean is opening a gay nightclub called PrEP+, which is dedicated to the HIV prevention drug PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis). The club opens tonight, but sorry gayes, tickets have already been given out.

According to a press release, “tickets links have been distributed”. The venue is set to be revealed to those ticket holders later tonight somewhere in Manhattan.

“PrEP+ is the first in a series of nights; an ongoing safe space made to bring people together and dance,” reads the press release.

“The night is named PrEP+ as an homage to what could have been of the 1980s NYC club scene if the drug PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) -- which can be taken daily to prevent HIV/AIDS for those who are not infected but are at high risk -- had been invented in that era.”

Ocean’s Apple Radio show Blonded is in collaboration with Ocean to open the series of nights for club PrEP+. Ocean will be hosting at the club and have also listed the following for club rules:

“No photos or videos are allowed. Consent is mandatory. Zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any form or discrimination The dance floor is for dancing.”

Frank Ocean has released the club’s promotional flyer.

#Gayes, will you be checking out the scene once tickets become available?
