It's no surprise that the first Black Panther movie had a huge impact on the black community. With Marvel Director Ryan Coogler in charge you can expect more black characters in the new sequel. The powerful superhero "Storm" could possibly be one of them. Storm is well known not only for her grey hair but also as the 1st black woman in marvel comics, and Janelle Monáe wants to bring that fictional character to life.

Though Janelle has played in films like Hidden Figures, Moonlight and Harriet, this role would be Janelle Monáe's first superhero character. According to an interview with Empire on Tuesday, Janelle was finishing up her Dirty Computer Album in Atlanta at the same time the cast of The Black Panther movie was in the Studio. Monáe made her intentions very clear to them which role she wanted.

"I definitely have thrown it out there. One of my dreams has always been to play Storm.

I don't know if she comes in 'Black Panther', but it would be a dream to have her in it...A lot of women have played Storm and they've done an exceptional job, and I would love to be in that line of artists and get to do Storm justice."

Storm is in many stories as the mutant who can control the weather and atmosphere. If you follow the Marvel Comics the plot thickens when she marries the African superhero, Black Panther (played by actor Chadwick Boseman ), and later crowned Queen of the fictional Wakanda.

Janelle Monáe as Storm and Queen of Wakanda might not be a bad idea.
