Madam Vice President? Upcoming Democratic Candidate Joe Biden has previously stated that he would be looking for a woman, specifically a woman of color, as his vice president. As of today he has announced that vice president to be the running favorite, Kamala Harris.
Rumors had been circulating that Kamala would have this role, although the presidential debate has shown that Kamala does have a controversial history since being an Attorney General. None this less, Kamala has made a name for herself and has claimed in the debates that she and Biden had worked with one another a long time and been close friends.
Biden spoke out today saying, ""I need someone who understands that we are in a battle for the soul of this nation. And that if we’re going to get through these crises -- we need to come together and unite for a better America. Kamala gets that."
I can't contain how excited I am to potentially see another strong black woman in the white house again. Already Kalama has a profile on Biden's campaign website articulating her goals and careet. To be clear, Biden will need to win the presidential election to become vice president. Regardless, the future looks like it's got a bit of that #blackgirlmagic going on. What do you think about Biden's decision?
