Black Prides United weekend is not just 4 days of vibes and queer joy, but it is also a movement. This year’s festivities is an amalgamation of LGBTQ+ organizations, promoters, and participating Black Prides assembling from Tampa, Orlando, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Atlanta, Houston, and beyond.
They are all joining forces to not only bring to you an electrifying weekend, but also to curate safe and affirming spaces that address the needs of the queer community. By centering mental and sexual health, gender affirmation and social justice, this Black Prides United weekend promises to build a legacy of empowerment, healing and celebration.
Partygoers can also expect a host of appearances from artists, DJs, influencers as well as, surprise guests that will all help to paint the vibrant tapestry that is the Black LGBTQ+ experience.
This year’s events are presented by Afro Pride Federation Inc, alongside the Center for Black Equity.
Afro Pride Fderation’s mission is to foster “the overall mental, social and economic wellness of the Black and Afrocentric communities including those who love and support them in South Florida”.
Afro Pride Federation works to expand access to culturally informed health and social services for Afrocentric LGBTQ+ BIPOC youth and young adults through research, clinical care, HIV prevention, education, and community engagement.


The Center for Black Equity promotes a global LGBTQ+ network focused on health and wellness, economic empowerment, and equal rights, while being grounded in the principles of self-determination and collective responsibility. Its vision is to unite individuals, allies, and organizations to advance social justice for Black LGBTQ+ communities through economic, health, and social equity.
With these two powerhouses in partnership, they hope to surround this year’s Pride with an impactful medley of community, culture and advocacy.

Thursday, October 9th:
Beyond the Surface: Black LGBTQ+ Voices on Policy & Pride – The opening reception to Black Prides United, featuring a live podcast and panel discussion.

Shades of Black Film Showcase – An evening of cinematic excellence and storytelling
