It’s that time of year again, Gayes. The Crescent City is about to literally be painted red as thousands flood the streets of New Orleans for the 38th annual Red Dress Run. Known for its mix of camp, commotion, and community, the global event turns the French Quarter into a runway where people of all genders wear everything red from spaghetti straps to full-on ball gowns in the name of charity and summer fun.

If you’re heading down this year, Us Helping Us People Into Living and Xavier Entertainment are linking up to turn the whole weekend into something special, bringing the flair of the DMV all the way down to NOLA.

Us Helping Us, People Into Living, Inc. has long been a trusted force in the community, focused on improving the health and well-being of black people, particularly around the impact of HIV/AIDS. This year, they’re launching Club 1985, a new giving initiative kicking off during Red Dress Run.

For $19.85 a month, supporters can help extend access to vital health services, programs, and safe spaces.

"Helping Us is bringing that same commitment to community care through a full weekend of events."

Thursday: Things kick off with a rooftop welcome reception at the host hotel. It’s promised to be the perfect vibe to meet, mix, and ease into the weekend with good music, drinks, and company you’ll see sprinkled throughout your visit.

Friday: “Red Velvet Vibes” takes over Nice Guys NOLA for a sultry night of heavy bass and excitement for the big day ahead.

Saturday: After the Red Dress Run, the main event goes down at Stellar Bar and Lounge. Expect performances, special guests, and a fashion-forward crowd.

Sunday: Sunday starts with “Redefining Red“, a one-day wellness retreat for Black women focused on reclaiming power, pleasure, and agency through meaningful conversation. Later, wrap up at Treehouse with “Red Hot Shenanigans,” the day party that promises a proper send-off.

Weekend passes and rooms for the host hotel are still on sale while supplies last.
