AFROKINGS to Bring First Afro-Caribbean Queer Celebration to Atlanta Black Pride 2026

Atlanta Black Pride weekend is about to get an Afro-Caribbean takeover.

As thousands descend on the city for one of the largest Black LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations in the country, AFROKINGS Entertainment is bringing its growing cultural experience to Atlanta for a night centered on music, connection and Afro-Caribbean queer visibility.

On Sunday, September 6, AFROKINGS will take over Mixx Atlanta from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., bringing the sounds of queer Afro and Caribbean DJs spinning Afrobeats, Dancehall, Amapiano, Soca, Rumba, Coupé-Décalé, Kompa and more to the 20th annual Atlanta Black Pride celebration. Hosted by social media personality and artist Cristian Dennis, the night will also feature co hosts Stephen Lombe and Andrew Rolle.

But organizers say AFROKINGS is intentionally designed to be more than another party on an already packed Pride weekend.

Created specifically for the Afro-Caribbean LGBTQ+ community, AFROKINGS aims to provide a space where queer people across the African and Caribbean diaspora can celebrate their cultures without separating them from their LGBTQ+ identities.

“This is more than a party — it is the first intentional space built for Afro-Caribbean queer people to celebrate who we are, connect with one another, and lift our culture and community together,” AFROKINGS shared in a statement. “After the magic we experienced in DC with over 400 people, we are ready to create that same powerful experience in Atlanta.”

AFROKINGS arrives in Atlanta following what organizers describe as a successful debut during DC Black Pride, where more than 400 attendees gathered for the collective’s first major event.

For AFROKINGS, the turnout offered a glimpse at the demand for nightlife experiences that intentionally center Afro-Caribbean LGBTQ+ people.

Now, the collective is looking to recreate that energy in Atlanta, where Black Pride has long served as a gathering place for Black LGBTQ+ people from across the country and around the world.

AFROKINGS is also adding a playful twist for those hoping Pride weekend might lead to a new connection. Guests will have the option of participating in the event’s signature color-coded wristband system. A green wristband signals that someone is open to mingling, while a red wristband lets the room know they are already taken.

The concept reflects AFROKINGS’ larger goal of encouraging genuine connections among attendees, whether they leave with a new friend, potential love interest or simply a larger sense of community.
